Arsenal star set to sign new deal

23 February 2014 - 23:06

Arsenal are expected to offer veteran midfield star Tomas Rosicky with a new contract in the next few days, according to manager Arsene Wenger.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Gunners boss was hugely impressed by the Czech international's display in the 4-1 win at home to Sunderland, where he was central to the over-running of the Wearside club, as he capped a sensational team goal.

Wenger admitted that Rosicky has much more to offer to the North London club, and will discuss a new deal with the player in the near future.

"Tomas Rosicky will stay," the Frenchman said. "We have an agreement with him and it will come out soon. I am absolutely adamant he has to stay at the club."

Rosicky has made over 200 appearances for the Gunners since his move from Borussia Dortmund in 2006.
