Arsenal are understood to be hopeful of signing Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda as a potential replacement for Wojciech Szczesny.
According to talkSPORT, the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen on signing a top-class shot-stopper in the summer transfer window, with current number one Wojciech Szczesny having doubts over his decision making in the big games.
Szczesny has had a good season with the North London club, but his character has come into question following a reckless challenge to take Arjen Robben down during the Champions League tie against Bayern Munich, for which he was sent off.
Wenger is now speculated to be preparing a bid in the region of £8.2m for the services of Congolese-born French international Steve Mandanda, but will face competition from the likes of Roma, Monaco, Atletico Madrid who are also keen on his signature.
Arsenal are currently third in the Premier League table following their dismal 1-0 away defeat at Stoke City in the weekend.
