Asmir Begovic still on Man Utd radar

Manchester United are understood to be scouting Stoke City's Bosnian goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, according to a report.

The Red Devils manager David Moyes had sent scouts to watch the talented shot-stopper in action during the Potters' 1-0 win over Arsenal last weekend.

 

Having been linked with a switch to the Manchester giants over the past few seasons under former boss Sir Alex Ferguson, the Daily Mail now claims the club look set to reignite their interest and make a summer move to acquire Begovic's signature, in order to provide stiff competition to current number one David de Gea for the first-team duties.

 

However, Begovic has claimed in the past that he would only leave Stoke City, should he be guaranteed first-team football on a regular basis at a top European club, and this is unlikely to happen at Old Trafford unless de Gea leaves.
