Courtois: Chelsea request new contract for keeper

Chelsea demand Courtois signs new deal

16 March 2014 - 04:25

Chelsea have told the agent of Thibaut Courtois that he must sign a three year contract extension. The Belgian keeper has spent the last three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid.

  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Many at Stamford Bridge expect Courtois to be the long term replacement for Petr Cech once the Czech goalkeeper quits Chelsea, but for the time being Jose Mourinho is confident that his current number 1 still deserves the coveted Blues' jersey.

Despite that, and with Courtois fast approaching the last 12 months of his deal, the Blues are to do everything in their power to tie the Belgium international down to an extended contract.
