Liverpool are understood to be keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
The Reds manager Brendan Rodgers had sent scouts to watch the talented defender in action during the club's 1-0 win over Porto in the Primeira Liga derby over the weekend.
Rojo has been in excellent form for Sporting this season, and looks set to nail a starting berth in the Argentine national side in this summer's World Cup finals in Brazil.
Sporting are currently placed 2nd in the Primeira Liga, seven points adrift of league leaders Benfica.
