Giggs backs Nani to excel

Man Utd's Welsh winger Ryan Giggs has backed Nani to become as good as Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo. Nani has impressed in his short time at the club since joining from Sporting Lisbon.

Welsh winger Giggs, 33, told ManUtd.com: "We’ve always had a great tradition at this club with wingers and hopefully Nani can develop in the way Cristiano has and learn about the game and keep getting better.



"He’s got great quality and energy and he can score and make goals, so he’s got the makings of becoming a really good player."



Ronaldo, 22, excelled last season playing a key role in the Red Devils clinching the Premiership title after a four-year wait but Nani is being tipped to become the new Cristiano Ronaldo in the coming seasons.
