Riquelme nears Boca move

Villarreal and Boca Juniors are close to agreeing a deal that will see Argentinian playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme return to his homeland with Boca. Riquelme has been unhappy at Villarreal for some time, but it seems a deal will finally be pushed through.

The Primera Liga side issued a statement on Monday confirming that: "Directors Jose Manuel Llaneza and Miguel Perez will meet with the Argentine club in Buenos Aires on Wednesday to complete the transfer."



The two teams have already agreed the move in principal after Riquelme's future with the Yellow Submarine became in major doubt.



The Argentine wizard has fallen out with coach Manuel Pellegrini since last season, and has been frequently ignored by the Chilean manager this term.
