Everton are believed to be keen on securing the services of midfielder Joe Allen from fierce rivals Liverpool in the summer.
A report from the Daily Mail claims that the Toffees boss Roberto Martinez wants a reunion with the former Swansea man, and considers the Welsh international as a potential replacement for veteran midfielder Gareth Barry, whose loan spell from Manchester City ends at the end of the season.
Â
Allen has started in just 11 Premier League games for the Reds this season, and this could tempt him into making a switch to rivals Everton in search for regular first-team football come the summer transfer window.
Â
The 24-year-old signed for the Reds from Swansea City for a fee of £15m in the summer of 2012.
