Everton plan summer bid for Liverpool midfielder

06 April 2014 - 23:09

Everton are believed to be keen on securing the services of midfielder Joe Allen from fierce rivals Liverpool in the summer.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • A report from the Daily Mail claims that the Toffees boss Roberto Martinez wants a reunion with the former Swansea man, and considers the Welsh international as a potential replacement for veteran midfielder Gareth Barry, whose loan spell from Manchester City ends at the end of the season.

Allen has started in just 11 Premier League games for the Reds this season, and this could tempt him into making a switch to rivals Everton in search for regular first-team football come the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old signed for the Reds from Swansea City for a fee of £15m in the summer of 2012.
