AS Monaco interested in Diego Costa

French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco are apparently stepping up their efforts to land the signature of Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa this summer.

The Brazilian-born Spanish international who has been one of the stand-out performers for Atleti this season, has attracted interest from a host of top European clubs over the past few months, with Premier League outfit Chelsea considered favourites to secure his services.

 

However, latest reports reveal that Monaco will make a summer move for the talented forward and are willing to pay a fee in the region of £50m. Monaco have also been linked with a move for Real Madrid shot-stopper Iker Casillas.

 

Costa has notched up 34 goals in all competitions for Atleti this season.
