Everton boss Roberto Martinez is understood to be keen on a reunion with former midfielder Mohamed Diame during this summer's transfer window.
The West Ham United midfielder is believed to be unsettled at the Hammers , having not been allowed a free role in midfield by manager Sam Allardyce.
According to The Mirror, the Senegalese international is keen on joining a top club in the Premier League and the Toffees are willing to trigger the player's release clause- which now stands at £3.5m.
Martinez had worked with the 26-year-old during his time with Wigan Athletic, and considers the midfielder as the perfect fit to replace Gareth Barry, who is unwilling to take a pay-cut to sign a permanent deal with the Merseyside outfit.
