Manchester United are to offer long serving forward Danny Welbeck a new contract. The England international had been linked with a summer exit away from Old Trafford.
Welbeck is set to earn a new contract extending his current deal for a further four seasons. This campaign, Welbeck has struggled to play regularly under former manager David Moyes, who preferred Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney as his strike duo. A lack of first team football almost cost United, as Welbeck apparently asked his agent to find him a new club. Despite that, the striker will now look to extend his spell at Old Trafford.
