Former Birmingham City forward Mauro Zarate is on the cusp of a sensational return to the Premier League with West Ham. The 27-year-old has agreed a three year contract with the Irons.
The Velez Sarsfield striker was the top scorer in the Argentine top flight last year and numerous scouts have contacted Zarate's agent regarding a potential move abroad.
West Ham appear to have agreed a fee with Velez for the transfer of Zarate.
Zarate said: "It's a new chance for me. West Ham called me. They are a fierce team and now I think I want to play [there]."
