Memphis Depay is one of the Netherlands' youngest players set to fly to Brazil with his country's national team. That's for good reason though, the 20-year-old left winger has an outstanding future ahead.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Depay, at the young age of 20, has already made over 60 appearances for PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie. Having been exposed to first team football in Holland for so long, Depay is arguably already ready for international football and his country's manager Louis Van Gaal has shown the faith in the left winger already, after guaranteeing him a spot on the plane to Brazil.

Over the past season, numerous Premier League clubs have sent scouts to watch the 5 foot 10 left winger in action. Most notably, Man Utd sent their top scout to watch Depay in action, whilst Newcastle United are also believed to have made an enquiry back in January.

The speedy winger, who has appeared for the Netherlands' youth teams at every level from 15 years of age until 21, is valued by PSV Eindhoven at around 15 million Euros. If he has a chance to play regularly in the World Cup, watch that price tag sky rocket.

Depay still has a contract until 2017 at PSV and manager Phillip Cocu admits that it is unlikely he will be unable to persuade Depay to stay at the club once bigger clubs show real interest.

One of his most interesting attributes; and being a left winger probably his most important, is his rapid pace. Depay has shown his quality with the ball at his feet as well and has been compared to a young Marc Overmars by the Dutch media.

Meanwhile his crossing ability could definitely do with some work. Depay's distribution is often seen as weak and at times lazy, but at the age of 20 he still has plenty of years to work on that.

Depay is sure to be a regular fixture in the Netherlands' squad for many years to come.
