Black joins Wigan

29 November 2007 - 21:30

Steve Bruce has finally made his first signing to his new club, Wigan, by signing his old number two at Birmingham Eric Black as his assistant manager.

  • Joao Pedro makes Chelsea transfer decision
  • Black was always expected to join the former Manchester United defender at the JJB Stadium.

His arrival was held up while the Blues sorted out their own managerial appointment but Black quit St Andrews on Tuesday just prior to former Scotland coach Alex McLeish being appointed manager.

Black spent his first day with his new club on Thursday and Bruce is looking forward to them re-establishing their successful partnership.

"The most important person is your right-hand man," said Bruce.
