Eden Hazard to sign new Chelsea contract

10 June 2014 - 10:11

Belgium and Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has opened talks with his club regarding a new contract. The former Lille man has reportedly moved a step closer to agreeing a four year contract this morning.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Chelsea have already opened talks with the Belgian and, despite suggestions that Jose Mourinho was unhappy with the performances from the youngster during the past season, the club are now ready to offer him a fresh contract.

Hazard told reporters: "I am staying at Chelsea, 100 percent. There is nothing more to say -- everything is clear. Of course in football you never know, but I am under contract with Chelsea and I want to stay there -- the rumours exist to sell newspapers. Moreover, I am in discussions with Chelsea for a new contract.

"It is only the beginning of the talks right now so we have time, but the fact that Chelsea have offered me a new deal means they have a lot of confidence in me that I can do a good job and that they can count on me. PSG never made any suggestions to me personally."
