Del Bosque left feeling ill after defeat

Del Bosque 'feels sick' after Spain loss

14 June 2014 - 07:47

Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque admitted that the 5-1 defeat at the hands of the Netherlands left him feeling physically sick yesterday. If there is any consolation for the Spaniards, it is the fact that the country also lost their opening game at the 2010 World Cup to Switzerland.

  • Spain were destroyed by an impressive Dutch team, with two goals each from Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie.

"I feel sick, ill at ease, but with the courage a defeat must not sink us," Del Bosque said. "It is not a happy moment, but first of all I want to congratulate the Dutch team, who were superior to us. We have been overwhelmed in the second half.

"We are a team of good professionals and good lads, everyone hurts, so there was no accusatory glances and that's good for the team. There will be time to talk."
