The Gunners are understood to be keen on signing up a top-class striker during the upcoming transfer window, as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

According to The Express, the North London club are well aware of the interest from AS Monaco for the Italian international, and are ready to beat the French giants by making a bid of around £25m for the 23-year-old striker.

Balotelli scored the winner during Italy's 2-1 victory over England in the World Cup finals on Saturday.
