Chelsea are reportedly set to complete the signing of Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis this summer.

The talented defender had been constantly linked with a summer exit from the Basque club, with Chelsea considered front-runners to secure his signature.



Luis' agent had confirmed that he was in talks with the West London club over the transfer last month.



According to Sky Sports journalist Gianluca di Marzio, the Blues have triggered the Brazilian's release clause of £19.9m, and will therefore be allowed to finalize personal terms with the player.

Luis has notched up 127 appearances for Atletico until now.
