Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has backed Vicente Del Bosque to stay on as Spain manager after the World Cup.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €70m to sign Brazilian star?
  • Chelsea winger could return from injury vs Aston Villa

  • Spanish media had been reporting that Del Bosque could be fired after the tournament, which saw the national side slump to a 5-1 defeat to Holland.

But Ramos has backed Del Bosque: "We players do not have a voice or a vote, but if Vicente wants to continue in charge of the national team he will have our full respect.

"With him in charge, we have had some magnificent years. He is a great coach and deserves respect. He is someone I like as a person and as a coach. It would be nice if he stayed."
