Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has backed Vicente Del Bosque to stay on as Spain manager after the World Cup.

Spanish media had been reporting that Del Bosque could be fired after the tournament, which saw the national side slump to a 5-1 defeat to Holland.

But Ramos has backed Del Bosque: "We players do not have a voice or a vote, but if Vicente wants to continue in charge of the national team he will have our full respect.

"With him in charge, we have had some magnificent years. He is a great coach and deserves respect. He is someone I like as a person and as a coach. It would be nice if he stayed."
