The talented shot-stopper was linked with a switch to the Premier League champions last summer, with manager Manuel Pellegrini keen on a reunion with his former player.

Caballero had a great spell for Malaga last season, as they managed to beat the drop from the La Liga, and this had attracted interest from a host of clubs in the Premier League over the past month.

According to Cadena COPE, the 32-year-old will join the Citizens after an agreement between the clubs over a £5m transfer fee. 

It is understood that the 32-year-old could act as back-up to first-choice keeper Joe Hart at City.
