Keylor Navas not going to Atletico Madrid

Levante reject Atletico Madrid bid for Keylor Navas

02 July 2014 - 13:28

Spanish side Levante have reportedly rejected a bid from Atletico Madrid for Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

  • Chido Obi to leave Man Utd on loan
  • Chelsea star suffers hamstring injury on international duty
  • Keylor Navas has been a hero for Costa Rica and is a major reason why his country have reached the quarter final stage of the World Cup.

Owing to his amazing saves in the World Cup, he has been in demand from Europe with Atletico Madrid in the race to sign him. While Levante is demanding £10 million for the keeper (which is his buy-out clause), the Madrid side has offered a cash plus player offer to them.

Atletico offered £6 million along with Leo Baptisao but the club president Quico Catalan was reported as saying that Athletico's bid is not worth £10 million and also Navas deserves more after his World Cup showing.

Los Colchoneros want to sign a long-term replacement for their keeper Thibaut Courtois after his loan contract expired and is now set for a return to Chelsea this summer.
