Everton are reportedly planning to buy Vfl Wolfsburg midfielder Ivan Perisic for a transfer fee of around £8 million.
After stellar performances during the World Cup by the Croat, he has become a hot property in the transfer market. He even scored a goal in Croatia's 4-0 win over Cameroon.
Toffees' coach Roberto Martinez is understood to be eyeing Perisic's transfer as a low-cost alternative for Gerard Deulofeu. Deulofeu was on-loan from Barcelona last season and has reportedly rejected to spend another year at the Merseyside club leading Martinez to search for midfielder alternatives elsewhere.
Perisic, who joined Vfl Wolfsburg in the summer of 2013, had a fallout with Jurgen Klopp during his time with Borussia Dortmund. His performances were below-par at the Dortmund outfit. However, he has since then reveled with the Wolves, having notched up an impressive tally of 11 goals and 7 assists last season.
With Perisic's price set to rise after his World Cup showing, it will depend on whether Martinez is ready to shell out a little more for the talented midfielder.
