Atletico Madrid's defensive midfield star Gabi has extended his contract with Los Colchoneros and will stay at the club until 2017.
Gabi was an influential member of the Atletico side which reached the Champions League final and won the La Liga title last season.
Atletico Madrid were leading their city rivals till 90 minutes in the Champions League but Ramos' header extended the game to extra time and they eventually lost out to Real Madrid, 4-1.
"This is another dream in my life and now I hope to continue to help the team and keep making history. I still have the desire to compete and win titles", he said.
Gabi has also won Europa League and Copa del Rey titles with Athletico.
Gabi's extension will be a huge relief to Diego Simeone's side, who are losing their star striker Diego Costa to Chelsea. Thibaut Courtois is already heading back to Chelsea and Tiago Mendes, is reportedly going to make a return to Stamford Bridge. Defender Diego Godin too is looking for opportunities elsewhere in Europe.
