Everton are reportedly open to signing former player Jack Rodwell from Manchester City this summer, according to Liverpool Echo.
The report claims that Manchester City are keen on signing Ross Barkley from the Toffees during the summer transfer window, with Rodwell likely to be offered as part of the deal.
However, manager Roberto Martinez is said to be keen to refute any offer from the Citizens, and will reward Barkley with a new deal in the next few days.
It is understood that the Toffees would make a bid of around £6m for the talented midfielder, who made over 100 appearances for the club in his previous stint.
