Cazorla commits future with Arsenal

Cazorla to stay at Emirates stadium

11 July 2014 - 17:12

Spanish playmaker Santi Cazorla has committed his future at Arsenal, thereby squashing rumours on a summer exit.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The midfielder arrived at Arsenal in 2012 from Malaga and made an important impact, scoring 12 goals in 38 Premier League appearances.

However, after the arrival of record buy Mesut Ozil last season, his opportunities on the pitch became limited with the German playmaker given higher preference.

Atletico Madrid were eyeing up a €20 million move for the talented player. However Cazorla has dismissed the speculation, and says he intends to remain with Arsenal.

"I'm very happy at Arsenal, I've got two more years here on my contract. Arsenal is great for me. I'm happy to be here at the moment and focus on that.", the Spaniard said.

He is regarded as an ambidextrous attacking midfielder and is an asset to the team.

He was also a part of the Spanish national team in this year's edition of the World Cup.
