Hughes: Blackburn to improve

Hughes: Blackburn to improve

04 December 2007 - 15:25

Mark Hughes has tipped his Blackburn side to continue improving. Blackburn are currently in eighth, but feels the side will come on even more in the second half of the season.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Hughes said: "Whether or not it is as a consequence of how we train, we are always stronger in the second half of seasons and that has been the case since I have been here.

"We are very excited by our start, and if we can capitalise on that and have a similar second half of the season, then who knows what we can achieve."

Hughes is also convinced that maintaining a degree of secrecy around their training helps Rovers compete.

He added: "We're quite protective about our day-to-day work and we feel that we can slip under the radar.

"While some others are shouting about what they do and telling everything about the make-up of their club, we just try and get on with our business and if we've got a competitive advantage by something we do in training we try to keep it to ourselves."
