Adrien Rabiot - Chelsea bound?

Chelsea track French wonderkid Rabiot

12 July 2014 - 06:59

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is plotting a move for 19-year-old midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The French under-21 international is out of favour at Paris St Germain and is seldom used in the first team.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • Rabiot is very highly rated in France, but the good form of the likes of Marco Veratti has kept the PSG starlet out of the first team. The midfielder is frustrated at a lack of first team opportunities and is ready to quit for pastures new. Chelsea have already contacted Paris St Germain regarding Rabiot in the past and were then told the player is categorically not for sale. However, the 6 foot 2 midfielder is said to now be hoping to push through a deal and will offer to pay to break his contract at the club.

Chelsea could sell John Obi Mikel this summer, released Frank Lampard and have already signed Cesc Fabregas, but Jose Mourinho is looking for more strength in depth in his squad, particularly in all midfield areas.

Rabiot could be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of 18 million euros.
