Newcastle United have completed the £12 million signing of Remy Cabella from French side Montpellier.
Cabella is the most expensive signing by the Magpies since the £16 million transfer of Michael Owen in 2005.
Manager Alan Pardew tried to sign Cabella during the January transfer window following Yohan Cabaye's transfer to French giant PSG and finally has got the player he wanted.
"This is a move that I really wanted to make.I wanted to join a great English club and that is why I have arrived here. I'm looking forward to pulling on the shirt and playing in this magnificent stadium, and I will give this Club my maximum," said Cabella.
"Remy is a player who has been on our radar for a while and we are delighted to bring him to the Club. He has flair, hard work and commitment, and is going to bring a talent, energy and quality to St. James' Park that our supporters will enjoy," said Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew.
The 24-year-old midfielder was part of France's World Cup squad but did not feature in the playing XI.
Cabella's international team-mate Mathieu Debuchy, who plays for Newcastle is preparing for a move to the Emirates Stadium with a £11 million move in the pipeline.
