Crystal Palace to sign Holtby?

21 July 2014 - 03:32

Crystal Palace are reportedly eyeing a move for Tottenham Hotspur player Lewis Holtby.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • It is believed that Holtby will be looking to move elsewhere as he does not fit into new manager Mauricio Pochettino's first team plans. Premier League clubs Crystal Palace and QPR are believed to be amongst the favourites to sign the German International.

The midfielder was used sparingly by former Spurs bosses Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood making just six Premier League starts for Tottenham last term. Holtby finished the season on loan at Fulham before rejoining Spurs where he is currently in the United States with the squad on a pre-season friendly.

This news comes as Sky sources reported that Palace are likely to miss out on target Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Icelandic International is tipped to be on the verge of a move to the Liberty Stadium as part of a deal for left-back Ben Davies and goalkeeper Michel Vorm.

Tottenham still hasn't signed any player this summer season and it is believed that the Spurs management will wait until the late summer before opening their cheque book.
