Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looks set to make a move for a central defender this summer, according to The Metro.
The Gunners boss is believed to be keen on signing a top-class centre-back with Premier League experience during the transfer window, with club-captain Thomas Vermaelen likely to depart to Manchester United in a weeks' time.
According to The Metro, Manchester City defender Micah Richards is seeking an exit from the Etihad this summer, and the Gunners could land the talented England international on a bargain price, given he is in the final year of his contract with the Mancunian giants.
It is believed that Richard's versatility to play at either centre-back or right-back could a major factor in the prospective deal.
