Liverpool are reportedly inching closer to the signing of Croatian defender Dejan Lovren from Southampton, according to The Independent.
The 25-year-old has been strongly associated with a switch to the Reds, with manager Brendan Rodgers keen on bolstering his backline ahead of the new season.
The Independent now claims that the two clubs have agreed on a fee of around for the transfer, and the talented centre-back will have his medical at the Merseyside club this weekend.
Lovren will be the third Saints' player to join Liverpool, following the arrival of Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana earlier this summer.
