Defender Patrick van Aanholt has completed a transfer to Sunderland. The 23-year-old signed a four year contract at The Stadium of Light.

The player spent two seasons at Vitesse on loan from Chelsea but now the Blues have decided to sell the full back. Van Aanholt is set to be thrust straight into first team action and will be replacing Marcos Alonso at Sunderland.
