Liveprool have moved to distance themselves from reports that Fabio Capello is being lined up to replace Rafa Benitez. The Spaniard has reportedly fallen out with Hicks and Gillett, but Rick Parry has moved to reject the rumours.

  • A report on Monday had linked Capello with a move to Liverpool to replace the under fire boss Rafa Benitez.

Reds Chief Executive Rick Parry has slammed the rumours saying in Liverpool Echo that they are “absolutely, completely and utterly untrue”.

He said: “Capello has not contacted us and we have not contacted him.”

Rafa Benitez has been persistently under fire since the end of November, but recent results have improved his position at the club.
