Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Monaco’s striker Radamel Falcao on loan this summer.
Italian Daily Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that the Sky Blues’ boss Manuel Pellegrini is willing to bring the Colombian International to the Etihad Stadium in a temporary move so as to fall in line with the Financial Fair Play regulations.
The 28-year-old joined the French club from Atletico Madrid last summer for a reported fee of €60 million and was on the sidelines for the last six months due to an injury. He returned to first team action last week for the club’s pre-season game against Valencia in the Emirates Cup.
Falcao had been previously linked with a similar loan move to La Liga side Real Madrid, but the Citizens now seem to be leading the race to obtain his services. The deal however will be based on the Chilean manager’s success in offloading forward Stevan Jovetic- a move the 60-year-old will be unwillingly making. Jovetic is himself reluctant to move out of the Premier League, despite offers from Juventus and former club Fiorentina, from where he was brought to Manchester last year.
