Arsenal plot record-bid for PSG star striker

13 August 2014 - 13:42

Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a club-record offer for one of Ligue 1's best strikers this summer.

  • Chelsea defender on his way to Leeds United?
  • Chelsea ready to hand Nicolas Jackson fresh chance
  • The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is understood to be keen on signing another striker before the transfer deadline, and Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani leads the list of targets for the club.

Cavani joined Les Parisiens from Napoli in the summer of 2013, and scored an impressive tally of 25 goals in 43 games for the club in all competitions.

However, the Uruguayan international is considering a fresh challenge away from the French champions, having become frustrated playing out of position at the club under manager Laurent Blanc.

According to The Metro, the North London outfit will make a record-bid in the region of £51m to seal the services of the talented marksman.
