Benfica to make bid for Man Utd misfit Nani?

17 August 2014 - 04:57

Benfica are believed to be interested in bringing Portuguese international winger Nani back home. The Manchester United midfielder is apparently available for transfer.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao

  • Louis van Gaal, who played Nani off of the bench in yesterday's 2-1 defeat to Swansea City, has initially kept the faith in the remnants of David Moyes' squad from last season but it is understood that the Dutchman is starting to lose patience with some of his fringe squad players. Nani could be one of those set for the Old Trafford exit door.

Benfica, the Portuguese champions, have sold many of their players this summer including the big money sale of Lazar Markovic to Liverpool. It is understood that the Estadio da Luz club are ready to bid 15 million euros to bring Nani back home.

Man Utd representatives are set to meet with Benfica club staff on Monday to discuss a potential transfer for the attacking player.
