La Liga side Valencia have reportedly shown an interest in bringing in striker Alvaro Negredo to the Mestella Stadium from Manchester City.
The Premier League’s reigning champions were found in breach of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play policy earlier this year, and are hoping to let go off a few players to fall in line with the Champions League’s squad limits imposed on them.
Reports in Spanish daily Marca suggest that Valencia have entered in talks with the 29-year-old and his agent to gauge the player’s interest for a possible move.
Negredo, who joined the Citizens in 2013 after 139 league appearances for Sevilla, had a solid start to his career with the Etihad stadium outfit, scoring 23 goals in his first 32 appearances, but failed to net even once in his next 16.
But despite the dip in form that also cost him his place in Spain’s World Cup squad that went to Brazil last month, the Bats are keen on bringing him back to his home country as they look to strengthen their attack after a disappointing eighth place finish in the league last season.
