The Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to add anotjer striker to the club's ranks before the transfer deadline.

According to Radio RMC, the Merseysiders consider Falcao as an ideal replacement for Luis Suarez, who left the club for Barcelona earlier in the transfer window.

In addition to this, the Anfield outfit are preparing an offer of around £12m to allow them to seal a deal for the Colombian international on a temporary basis for the season.

Earlier, a deal to sign striker Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers was put off due to the player's failure to pass the medical.
