Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly inching closer to the signing of star winger Angel di Maria from Real Madrid this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The talented winger has requested to leave Los Blancos during the current transfer window, with his place in the first-team likely to be limited following the arrival of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez to the Bernabeu earlier in the summer.

According to Sky Sports, the Argentine international is on the cusp of joining the Red Devils this summer, with the finishing touches likely to be put in place next week.

The report adds that Di Maria will join the Mancunian giants on a club-record fee of around £56m.
