Argentinian defender Federico Fazio is still a target for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. The tall Sevilla centre back, 27, has told his club that he will be leaving Spain this summer.
Tottenham have already wrapped up a deal to sign Eric Dier from Sporting Lisbon this summer and it is understood that Swiss international Fabian Schar is also a target.
However, Pochettino is known to favour a move for fellow countryman, Fazio, and that the defender is keen on a transfer to White Hart Lane. Fazio has just two caps for his country but is hopeful a run in the first team in the Premier League will boost his international ambitions.
Tottenham have missed out on a deal for Villarreal centre back Mateo Musacchio after being quoted a massive 24 million euros and have now plumped for the cheaper option in Fazio, who is available for a fee of around 10 million instead.
