Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal could be set to sign the third Argentinian international of the summer, as reports indicate that the club could make a bid for goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game

  • The 27-year-old is expected to leave his current club Sampdoria in search of regular first team football and Man Utd are favourites to land his signature.

Emiliano Viviano joined the Italian side last month and it is presumed that Romero will be free to leave. Sampdoria have valued the goalkeeper at around 7.5 million euros.

It is understood that Man Utd want to bring in Romero to add extra competition to their squad ahead of the long Premier League campaign.
