Southampton have completed the signing of Belgian international Toby Alderweireld on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid.
The talented centre-back had been associated with a switch away from Atleti this summer, with manager Diego Simeone unwilling to offer him with sufficient game-time with the first-team.
It has now been confirmed that the former Ajax star would ply his trade with the Saints for the rest of the season.
Alderweireld made just 12 appearances for the La Liga champions since his switch from Ajax last summer.
