09 December 2007 - 14:31

Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson has given Ryan Giggs the ultimate praise after the Welshman notched his 100th league goal for Man Utd. Man Utd went on to win 4-1 and Giggs spoke of his delight of the achievement.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Giggs hit home the opener in United's 4-1 drubbing of rock bottom Derby County on Saturday to become the club's 11th player hitting a century of goals.

"Obviously I'm really pleased to have scored 100 league goals," the Welshman told United's official site.

"It's a great achievement and I'm pleased that I eventually got there."

Ferguson himself lined up Giggs for some praise: "I'm amazed that there hasn't been more made of it," said the Scottish manager.

"I think we should be making a big deal of it because it’s a fantastic achievement. Not many players have scored 100 league goals for this club."
