Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny insists his side can emerge winners once again when they take on Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League group stage tie at Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday.

  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Arsene Wenger’s side beat the Black and Yellows 1-0 when the two teams met in a similar situation in Germany last year, and have once again been drawn up against the Bundesliga outfit along with Belgian club Anderlecht and Turkish side Galatasaray this time around.

The Gunners qualified to the group stage of the European tournament via the play-offs after defeating Besiktas 1-0 on an aggregate last month but Szczseny has urged on the importance of making it through this round as well and is confident that his side can pull off another victory against their German opponents.

“It is important to make it to through the group stage. But first of all we focus on the match tomorrow”, the Polish shot-stopper was quoted as saying by UEFA’s official website.

“I'm quite confident. Last year we played very well here and won, luckily. Hopefully we can repeat that”, the 24-year-old added.

Arsenal will return to Premier League action when they take on second placed Aston Villa on Saturday.
