Liverpool representatives have been in contact with Paris St Germain regarding a move for Argentinian international forward Ezequiel Lavezzi. The versatile striker has been told he is free to leave the Ligue 1 Champions.

  • Lavezzi had been constantly linked with a move to Anfield throughout the summer transfer window, but instead Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers opted to sign Mario Balotelli from AC Milan instead. Rodgers could now renew his interest in the 29-year-old as it has been rumoured Liverpool will make a loan bid to sign the striker.

Lavezzi has been on the bench in all of PSG's games so far this season. The player has also been rumoured to have pulled out of contract talks with the French club.

Liverpool are readying a reported 15 million euro bid in January for the forward and are confident that a loan deal can be agreed prior to that.
