Real Madrid centre back Raphael Varane signed a new six-year contract with the Spanish club earlier today, extending his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu upto 30th June 2020.
The French international joined the Whites from the Ligue 1 side Lens in 2011 after 23 league appearances.
He has since then featured in 74 games for La Liga outfit across all tournaments, and has a league medal and a Spanish cup win amongst other major honours to his name.
The 21-year-old was also a part of Carlo Ancelotti’s side that won the Champions League last year, where he started in the final against Atletico Madrid and went on to play the full 120 minutes, as they beat the Red and Whites 4-1 in extra time.
Varane also has 13 international caps for the Blues to his credit since making his debut in August 2012, and was included in Didier Deschamps’ squad that reached the quarter finals of the World Cup in Brazil this year.
