Premier League giants Manchester City are reportedly planning a summer swoop for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, according to The Mail.

Barkley emerged as one of the shining stars of the Premier League last season, and this earned him a place in the England national setup at the World Cup finals in Brazil.

The Mail reports that the Citizens are ready to renew their interest in the talented midfielder next summer.

In addition to this, the Mancunian giants are open to paying the £50m fee demanded by the Toffees for the player's transfer.

Barkley is currently recovering from a knee injury.
