Liverpool have missed out on a deal to sign former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes. The shot stopper looks set to join a team where he will play guaranteed first team football instead.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper had been linked with a transfer to Anfield regularly since the summer having been released by Barcelona. However the goalkeeper is only set to move to a team where he can be guaranteed regular first team football.
Monaco were also once favourites to sign the keeper, but cannot guarantee him a regular starting position.
With Simon Mignolet set to continue to wear the number 1 jersey at Anfield, Valdes' search for a new team will continue.
