Arsenal forward Joel Campbell will not leave the club in the winters, insists his agent Ruggero Lacerenza.

  • The Costa Rican footballer had been the subject of widespread speculations linking him to major European clubs all summer. Recent reports suggested that Serie A side Inter Milan were preparing a bid in the hopes of bringing the 22-year-old to the San Siro Stadium in January.

But Campbell’s agent is confident that the player is happy with his life in England and insists that he is not looking for a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

“Joel is an Arsenal player, there's nothing else I can say at the moment”, Lacerenza was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“The Gunners are happy with him and there is no problem. They are a great club and the player is proud to play there.

“Inter's interest? I repeat, he is an Arsenal player and we are happy. All the rest are just rumours”, he added.

Campbell, who had joined the Gunners in 2011, returned to the English club in August this year, after spending the last three season out on loan to Ligue 1 outfit Lorient in 2011, Spanish side Real Betis in 2012, and Greek club Olympiacos in 2013.

However with striker Olivier Giroud ruled out for four months due to an injury, Campbell has become a part of Arsene Wenger’s first team plans and has made three appearances so far in the new season.
